A hanging vase display is a simple way to bring fresh flowers to a kitchen wall or another spot with limited surface space. With small vases, twine and a suitable hook, you can arrange blooms at different heights and create a colorful focal point without taking up counter space.

Supplies:
- Small vases with narrow necks and wider openings at the top
- Twine
- A metal robe hook, if there is not already a suitable hook in place

Choosing the right vases is an important part of this project. Look for a narrow neck that helps keep the twine in place, paired with a wider opening at the top. Keep the vases small: once filled with water, larger vessels can become heavy. Before hanging them, check that the hook and its mounting point are appropriate for the combined weight of the vases, water and flowers.
How to Make a Hanging Vase Display
- Install the hook. If a hook is not already available, attach a metal robe hook to a suitable wall location, following the hardware instructions. Avoid placing the arrangement where it could be easily bumped.
- Secure the twine. Cut a long piece of twine for each vase and wrap it several times around the narrow neck. Tie it firmly so the vase cannot slip through the loop. Check each knot before lifting the vase.
- Arrange the lengths. Gather the loose strands together and adjust them to create staggered hanging heights. Tie the group of strands to the robe hook, then make sure the vases hang steadily and do not press against one another.
- Add water and flowers. Once the vases are hanging securely, use a measuring cup to pour water into each one. Add flower stems to finish the arrangement. Pour slowly to help prevent spills, and keep the water level modest so the vases do not become unnecessarily heavy.
Easy Water Removal and Care
When the flowers have finished blooming, remove the stems first. Pour the water from each hanging vase into a bowl, then empty the bowl down the drain. This avoids having to untie the vases just to dispose of the water. Refill with fresh water when adding new flowers, and occasionally check that the twine, knots and hook remain secure.

The finished display adds a friendly touch of color to a kitchen wall while keeping flowers off the work surface. Its varied heights make a small group of vases feel more dynamic, and the basic materials make the arrangement straightforward to assemble. For a neat result, choose vases that are similar in scale and check that every strand is secure before filling them. — Laura
