Kacey Musgraves’ Living Room Makeover

The Kacey Musgraves living room makeover brings together western-inspired details, warm materials, and playful color. Designed by Elsie for the country singer and songwriter’s Nashville home, the space balances a cozy seating area with personal collections and practical features.

Kacey Musgraves Living Room Makeover: The Design

The decorating process began with a shared collection of inspiration, flea-market finds, and ideas. The finished room reflects Kacey’s western-influenced style while incorporating a palette of pink, gold, brass, and natural greenery. For a similar look, choose a few colors to repeat throughout the room rather than adding accents at random.

A pink sofa became a focal point for the design. Around it, the seating area was arranged near the fireplace, with built-in shelves on both sides to provide display and storage space.

A large rug helps define the seating area, while a rustic coffee table adds texture. Plants soften the room and bring natural color into the mix. When choosing a rug, measure the seating area first so the main furniture can sit comfortably on it.

A brass chandelier adds a distinctive metallic accent above the living area. Repeating brass details elsewhere—such as in small objects or picture frames—can help a statement light feel connected to the rest of the room.

The shelves combine personal mementos in pink and gold tones. Display pieces include a horse-shaped clock found at a flea market in Texas and a vintage children’s costume crown found in Missouri. Grouping objects by color or material can make a collection feel considered without making every item match.

A photograph of Loretta Lynn kissing Kacey on the cheek adds a personal touch. Framing meaningful photographs is an easy way to make a living room feel specific to the people who use it.

A hanging plant shelf adds greenery without taking up floor space. It’s a useful option for smaller rooms, though plants should be placed where they can receive suitable light and be watered safely.

White leather chairs with cowgirl-inspired details provide extra seating and contrast with the pink sofa. Light-colored chairs can brighten a room, while textured pillows help connect them to a more rustic scheme.

The rose-quartz pink sofa is the room’s most striking feature. Its color gives the space a lively focal point while the surrounding neutral and brass details keep the overall look balanced.

From a wider view, the room feels cohesive because its main elements—sofa, rug, fireplace, shelving, and plants—work together to define one comfortable gathering space.

The record station adds a music-focused feature to the room. Custom cactus marquee lights sit above the turntable, and the inside of the record cabinet is painted pink for a small, coordinated burst of color. A dedicated listening area can also help keep records and audio equipment organized.

Tiny gold cactus details personalize the turntable. Small decorative touches like these can add character without overwhelming a larger piece of furniture.

The orange door was selected after other options did not feel right. Pink would have added too much of the same color, so orange was chosen to echo the rug and create a bright accent. When selecting a bold door color, look for a shade already present elsewhere in the room.

Furniture, Finishes, and Color Details

The room’s source list includes a rose-quartz Emil sofa, sofa pillows, a large area rug, a coffee table, cowhide pillows, a brass chandelier, mixed vintage and contemporary planters, a turntable, speakers, and a console table. The listed paint colors are Noble Blush for the pink and Husky Orange for the door.

To adapt the look, start with one focal piece, such as a colorful sofa, then repeat its tones in smaller accents. Add natural textures, a few meaningful objects, and layered lighting to create a room that feels personal as well as comfortable.

Conclusion

The Kacey Musgraves living room makeover shows how a bold sofa, western-inspired accessories, built-in storage, and carefully chosen color can create a warm, individual space. Its most practical lesson is to balance statement pieces with useful furniture and personal details. Design by Elsie.
