Pom pom magnets are a simple way to add color to your refrigerator or another magnetic surface while keeping favorite photos in view. This easy craft combines yarn pom poms with printed pictures to make decorative magnets for your home or a thoughtful handmade gift. Choose photos and yarn colors that suit your space, then gather a few basic supplies before getting started.

Supplies for Pom Pom Magnets
- Photo paper and printed photos
- A PIXMA TS8120 printer, or another suitable printer
- Yarn and a pom pom maker, or ready-made pom poms
- Round magnets
- A hot glue gun
- Scissors, or an X-Acto knife and a ruler
Before beginning, check that your photo paper is compatible with your printer. If you are making several magnets, gather enough yarn and round magnets for the number you want to create. Using ready-made pom poms is a convenient option if you do not have a pom pom maker.

How to Make Pom Pom Magnets
- Print your photos. Print your chosen images on photo paper. The project used a PIXMA TS8120 to print the pictures. Let the prints dry as directed for the paper before cutting, so the images are easier to handle.
- Cut out the pictures. Use scissors for a simple freehand edge, or use a ruler and an X-Acto knife for straighter cuts. Work on a suitable cutting surface and keep fingers clear of the blade.
- Make the pom poms. Use yarn and a pom pom maker to create one pom pom for each magnet. If you prefer, use ready-made pom poms instead. Making the pom poms in different colors can help coordinate them with your photos or room.
- Attach each pom pom to a magnet. Carefully apply hot glue to connect a pom pom to a round magnet. Keep the glue gun away from children and avoid touching hot glue. Allow the glue to set fully before handling or using the magnets.

Display and Customize Your Magnets
Once the glue has set, place the finished magnets on a refrigerator, metal locker, or another magnetic surface. They can hold photo memories where they are easy to see throughout the day. For a more noticeable decorative accent, make a larger pom pom and pair it with a suitably larger magnet. Check that the magnet is secure before displaying it, especially if it will be moved often.

This project is easy to adapt: use family snapshots, vacation pictures, or other small images, and choose yarn colors to match your display area. Pom pom magnets make a cheerful addition to a collection of photos and can be made in a range of sizes. Keep your favorite memories in view with this straightforward photo craft.
