A pyramid stud vase DIY is a simple way to turn an acrylic cube into a decorative home accent. Fence post caps create the studded look, while spray paint brings the separate pieces together in a coordinated finish. Use the finished cube as a vase or, if it suits your plant, as a small planter.
Supplies for a Pyramid Stud Vase DIY
Gather everything before you begin so you can mark and attach the caps without interrupting the project.

- Spray paint
- Four fence post caps
- Gel super glue
- An acrylic cube
- Thin washi tape
Choose a clean, dry acrylic cube and check that the caps sit flat against its sides. For the neatest result, plan to paint in a well-ventilated area and follow the spray paint’s label for application and drying instructions.
How to Make the Studded Vase
Mark the placement of each cap

Place one fence post cap on a side of the cube and adjust it until it is centered. Use thin washi tape to outline the cap’s position. This temporary guide makes it easier to keep the other caps aligned and helps prevent them from shifting during gluing.
Glue the caps in place
Apply a thin line of gel super glue around the edge of the first cap. Set it within the tape guide and hold it steady as needed. Allow the glue to set according to its product instructions before handling the cap.

Repeat the process on the remaining sides, positioning each cap carefully. Once all four are attached and secure, remove the washi tape. If a cap looks slightly off-center, adjust it before the glue sets rather than trying to move it afterward.
Paint and let the vase dry

Wipe away dust and dirt from the cube’s exterior. Apply a few thin coats of spray paint to the outside and top edge, allowing adequate drying time between coats. Thin layers help create an even finish; avoid rushing by adding a heavy coat. Let the paint dry fully before using the vase.

Finishing and Using Your Vase

When the paint is completely dry, add water and arrange fresh flowers in the cube. Keep the water inside the acrylic container and avoid soaking the painted exterior. For use as a planter, consider the needs of the plant and whether the cube provides suitable drainage.

This project can also be adapted for a larger planter: arranging four caps together on each side creates a bigger studded pattern. Whether you keep the design simple or scale it up, this pyramid stud vase DIY offers a practical way to customize a basic container with a few craft and hardware supplies.
