White + Gold Holiday Wreath DIY

A white and gold holiday wreath can bring a polished, festive look to your door while still feeling right at home in fall decor. Faux flowers and berry stems add a seasonal touch, while gold accents give the design a little sparkle. With a wreath base and a few simple supplies, you can customize the colors and arrangement to suit your space.

The project is credited to Laura. Choose flowers in a couple of sizes or styles for a more varied appearance, and consider keeping small areas of contrasting color—such as dark flower centers—to add depth.

Supplies for a White and Gold Holiday Wreath

  • White faux flowers
  • Faux leaves
  • Faux berry stems
  • A wreath base of your choice
  • White fabric or felt
  • White spray paint
  • Gold spray paint
  • Hot glue gun

Look for the floral elements at a craft store, where you can compare shapes, sizes, and colors before buying. If you find ready-made gold leaves or white berry stems, you can use those instead of painting them.

How to Make the Wreath

1. Prepare the leaves and berries

For a gilded finish, spray the front of some faux leaves with gold paint. Use white spray paint on berry stems if you want them to match the rest of the palette. Follow the paint label directions, work in a well-ventilated area, and let each painted piece dry completely before assembling the wreath.

2. Cover the wreath base

Cut white felt or fabric into long strips about 4 inches wide. Wrap the strips around the wreath base and secure them with hot glue. Covering the sides and back helps any exposed sections blend in with the flowers, rather than showing the base through gaps.

3. Add flower and berry clusters

Trim the faux flowers close to their heads so they sit more evenly against the base. Glue a cluster of flowers in one area, then wind a berry stem around the outside of the cluster and toward the back of the wreath. Secure the stem with glue every couple of inches. Take care when handling hot glue, and allow it to set before adjusting the pieces.

4. Fill in the design

Arrange three main flower clusters at evenly spaced points around the wreath, winding a berry stem around each one. Add gold leaves between the clusters for contrast. Using flowers in two or three different styles and sizes can help the arrangement look full without appearing uniform.

Once the main sections are in place, fill the open spaces with additional flowers and leaves. Check the wreath from the front as you work so you can spot gaps and keep the details distributed around the circle.

Finishing and Hanging

When the arrangement is complete and the glue is set, tie thick white yarn around two points at the top to form a hanging loop. Before displaying the wreath, check that the loop is secure and that the heavier decorations are firmly attached. Keep in mind that outdoor exposure may affect faux materials and finishes, so follow product care guidance when choosing where to hang it.

This white and gold holiday wreath combines autumn-inspired leaves and berries with a bright, festive color scheme. It can complement fall decor and carry through the holiday season, while the mix of white, gold, and subtle dark accents gives the finished design added dimension.
